Vietti, Moscato d'Asti DOCG 2020 (750ml)
Bright straw yellow color, slightly sparkling. Intense aroma of peaches, rose petals and ginger. Sweet and delicate on the palate, with a modest acidity, good balance and complexity. Fresh apricot finish.
The grapes come from small vineyards in Castiglione Tinella. 4,500 plants per hectare with an average age of 40 years. The vinification begins with a soft pressing of the grapes and the natural cold decantation. At the moment of fermentation the temperature naturally rises between 12-14 ° C by adding natural yeasts. Fermentation takes place in a steel autoclave in order to maintain natural carbon dioxide and is blocked at an alcohol content of 5.5% vol. The wine is thus refrigerated and filtered. Moscato does not undergo malolactic fermentation and is bottled with sterile filtration.
The history of the Vietti winery traces its roots back to the 19th Century. Patriarch Mario Vietti, starting from 1919, made the first Vietti wines, selling most of the production in Italy. The Vietti winery quickly grew to one of the top-level producers in Piedmont. Alfredo was also one of the first to select and vinify grapes from single vineyards. Since 1974 certain Vietti wines have been dressed with specially-designed original works (lithographs, xylographies, etchings, silkscreens, linocuts) inspired by the wine of that particular vintage. The print run is the same as the number of bottles produced, and the first hundred labels are signed by the Artist. Each work is only used once, just for the wine of that vintage.
